Once Upon a Whaaa?! is a fully improvised mashup of some of our favorite classic stories. The skilled improvisers from the Hideout Theatre will take the Scottish Rite stage to completely remix well-known stories using suggestions from the audience. Since it’s improvised, each show is totally unique, never seen before, and never to be seen again!
Hideout Theatre is an improvisational theatre that creates all comedies, plays and sketches on the spot, unless otherwise noted. Hideout provides several levels of improv classes on weeknights and weekends for adults, children and teens.
Austin Scottish Rite Theater is an Austin gem – a fully operational modern theater thriving within a stunning historic landmark. SRT is Austin’s oldest theater, erected in 1871, the same year Austin became the capitol of Texas. For forty years it was a German opera house; then in 1914 it became the home of the Scottish Rite Masons who treasured the site and remain watchful tenants of the building. In 2004 the Masons created the non-profit theater organization that exists today; nestled amid the State Capitol, University of Texas, and Austin’s museum district, Scottish Rite is dedicated to building community through the arts.
