Kina Grannis Breathes Life Into the Austin Music Scene with Her Live Show

California native Kina Grannis hits the Austin scene on Monday, August 13th for a live show that should not be missed! A testament to hard work and creating art in the digital age, Kina Grannis brings her unique perspective to modern music to famed nightclub Antone’s for one night only.

Grannis is a pop singer/songwriter who first rose to fame after winning the Doritos 'Crash the Super Bowl' contest in 2008. However, her first major musical venture occurred one year prior, when she recorded a song alongside Rachel Lawrence and Deborah Ellen, "Ours to Keep.” The song was often featured on the television series General Hospital.

In 2008, Grannis won the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest with her song, "Message from Your Heart." This win resulted in a recording contract with Interscope Records, which was terminated the next year once Grannis decided to pursue her music career as an independent artist. Stairwells debuted within the Billboard 200 Chart in 2010 and received significant airplay in the United States and the United Kingdom. The singer has since released her second album, Elements, which reached number two on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart.

Kina Grannis brings her soulful lyrics to famed nightclub Antone’s on Monday, August 13th at 8:00 p.m. A past playground for musical greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Ray Charles, Antone’s has been Austin’s premier blues club for over 40 years.
